
It took a little patience. Just a little.
But historians of the marine sciences have finally accepted the challenge, picked up the gauntlet, lifted anchor, taken some soundings, and dropped the proverbial Nansen bottle into the sea, Yes, we have a new website and blog, with more functionality than the last.
Our current president, Walter Lenz, will likely post a welcome message soon. In the meantime we would be delighted to hear feedback about this site, about ways to improve it (within reason!). More importantly, if you have content you’d like to contribute, such as short reflection pieces (blogs) or even just information about yourself for the member section, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d be delighted. It’s an important step in forging ahead with a truly global, and connected, scholarly community.
For your amusement, here is the graphic we’ve been using for years, which is (let’s be honest) kind of generic. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone came up with a new logo or masthead?
